Cultural Relativism is the knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of other cultures. These cultures can be practices anywhere from inside your school to around the world. People don't accept other cultures because they are not willing to compromise the culture they were brought up on. This is especially apparent with religion. Most people, and i do mean most, not all, would have a very time understanding Buddhism if they were raised Catholic. It is just a conflict of beliefs. When you have been told one thing for thirty plus years of your life, your mind doesn't even want to accept the possibility of something else being true. That's because if there is something else that people believe, it gives less credibility to your belief. And this is why we say that a religion is weird, or a custom is stupid. We simply cant understand.  So many wars have been started because we don't accept the differences of others. Religion, race, and ethnicity have all started wars and killed thousands of people. If we could just accept the differences in others while accepting ourselves, we wouldn't need to start wars. And nobody wants to start wars. :)
